Privacy Policy

Keepsake is built by Two L Studios. We believe privacy is a feature, not a liability — and we built this app accordingly. This policy explains exactly what happens to your information when you use Keepsake.

The short version

Everything you put into Keepsake — the people you love, your notes, reminders, photos, and gift history — stays on your phone. We don't have a server that stores your data. We don't have an account system. We don't track you.

The one time your information leaves your device is when you ask Keepsake to suggest a gift. We explain exactly what that looks like below.

What stays on your device

All of the following is stored locally on your phone and never sent anywhere:

• People you save (names, relationships, birthdays, interests, photos)
• Notes you write about them
• Reminders you set
• Gift history and saved gift ideas
• Photos you add to a person's profile
• Your daily prompt responses and streak

This information is stored using your phone's built-in app storage. It is not backed up to our servers. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.

What happens when you ask for gift ideas

When you tap "Find a gift," Keepsake sends the following information to our server so it can generate suggestions:

• The person's first name (as you entered it)
• Their relationship to you (e.g. "mom")
• The occasion you selected (e.g. "birthday")
• Their interests and any notes or answers you've captured
• Your budget
• Any past gifts you've logged, so we don't suggest them again

Our server forwards this information to Anthropic's Claude API, which is the AI service that generates the actual gift suggestions. We do not store this request. Anthropic may retain the request for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, per their commercial API terms. Anthropic does not use the data to train their models.

We send only what's needed to generate good suggestions. We do not send your photos, your phone number, your email, your location, or anything else we haven't listed above.

What we don't do

• No accounts. There's no sign-up, no email, no password.
• No analytics. We don't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, PostHog, Firebase, or any other tracking tool.
• No crash reporting. We don't use Sentry, Bugsnag, or any similar service.
• No advertising. There are no ads in Keepsake, and no advertising identifiers are collected.
• No third-party SDKs beyond the Expo framework that the app is built with.
• We don't sell data. We have nothing to sell — we don't collect any.

Links to other stores

Some gift suggestions include links to online stores like Amazon, Etsy, or Google Shopping. When you tap one of these links, you leave Keepsake and go to that store's website. Once you're there, that store's own privacy policy applies. We don't control what they collect.

In the future, some of these links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy something through them. This does not change the price you pay, and we will always clearly label these suggestions. We do not receive any information about what you buy.

Children

Keepsake is intended for users who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we ask that children do not use Keepsake without a parent or guardian.

Keepsake does allow you to save notes and information about children you know — for example, planning a gift for your niece or nephew. Since all of this information stays on your own device and is never transmitted, no information about any child is ever collected by us.

Your choices and controls

You are always in control of your data in Keepsake:

• Delete any individual person from the app at any time.
• Delete individual notes, reminders, photos, or gift records.
• Use "Clear All Data" in Settings to wipe everything Keepsake has stored on your device.
• Delete the Keepsake app from your phone to remove all Keepsake data from your device.

Because nothing you put into Keepsake is stored on our servers, there is no separate data-deletion request process. Deleting from the app is the complete deletion.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
